moved out & moving along
Tom and I have been talking about the timeline of events that have brought us to this point. Many of them, I mentioned in previous posts, but it’s still so wild to look at how this decision began in October and has materialized into now. All the selling of items big and small, the house going on the market/showings/closed, juggling school days and long drives and teaching, Tom working and meeting people for selling or buying FB marketplace items, groceries and final house projects and meals… just all the hundreds of little things that had to happen as we chased an entirely new lifestyle.
And here we are! We are officially moved into our camper and so far it’s been great. Once we moved in, we spent two weeks at a campground near our house because we still had the house and needed to finalize what we still had there that was going to a storage unit and get settled into the camper. We also had to clean the house and all that before closing on May 4th. We had one final day there that was absolutely exhausting. We spent the day loading stuff up to get rid of, loading up stuff to bring to storage, and cleaning. We had to drive across town to our storage unit and load that up, and then go BACK to the house to keep cleaning. The next morning, bright and early, we had to bring Silas to school and then close on the house. All the while, the boys have been such troopers and willing helpers. Ike even joined us at closing and is just such a great little bud. He also lost his first tooth in the camper!
Now, we’re west of Nashville about an hour at one of our favorite campgrounds - Piney River Resort. We got to celebrate Mother’s Day and Silas’s 8th birthday here this week, and also weather the stomach bug and a black tank overflow mishap. Silas is about to finish up at his tutorial school, and we will finally be hitting the road and truly beginning our adventure.
We are so incredibly grateful for the time we’ve spent in Nashville and the people in our lives here. It has been such a gift to have had littles here and enjoy the family friendliness of this city. Not to mention the amazing concerts and restaurants we’ve been to over the years! Some awesome date nights for sure. We will miss our friends, neighbors, and church family immensely. That said, I sincerely hope we cross paths again - maybe even on the road! I’ll have to keep a running list of our future stops. We would LOVE to hang with familiar faces along the way, and we look forward to meeting new ones.
First stop… Michigan!
